Privacy policy

matsuri.guide is built for browsing without an account. We collect only what the site needs to show listings, receive submissions, prevent abuse, and keep the service running.

No accounts

You do not create an account to browse, confirm details, report an issue, or submit an event. We do not ask for a password or profile.

Event submissions and messages

If you submit an event or email us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as event name, city, region, country, venue, source links, notes, and your email address. We use that information to verify the listing, follow up on missing details, or respond to your request.

Confirmations and reports

The confirm and report buttons use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam. We also store a salted hash of your IP address and browser user agent as a soft dedup signal, so one network cannot repeat the same confirmation or report over and over. We do not store the raw IP address in the verification record.

Cookies and advertising

Advertising or analytics cookies are gated through Google's AdSense Privacy & messaging consent flow for visitors in regions that require consent, including the EEA and the UK.

Operational data

Cloudflare may process standard request data to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and provide aggregate service metrics. We use this to keep pages fast and available.

Future newsletter

matsuri.guide does not run a newsletter today. If one is added later, signup will be optional and will follow CASL and other applicable email consent rules.
